With decades of experience our attorneys have a deep understanding of federal and state employment laws and regularly assist our clients in interpreting and implementing federal employment law requirements.
We have extensive experience handling compliance issues involving Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Equal Pay Act, and the National Labor Relations Act. Our services include evaluating, updating, and drafting new employer policies to ensure compliance with all federal and state employment laws.
Our attorneys work with our Tax Planning & Controversy Group to advise clients on income tax, FICA and FUTA tax withholding requirements; assist clients with the proper classification of their workers; and offer assistance and expertise in audits by the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Labor. Recent examples of our attorneys’ work in this area include:
- Assisting clients in the establishment of policy and procedure for hiring and use of temporary and leased employees
- Addressing multi-state, federal tax, unemployment and workers' compensation issues with respect to leased and temporary employees
